Avona Serif is a serif font family. This typeface has six styles and was published by Alanna Munro.

The Avona family of fonts are inspired by fantasy games and calligraphy. Carolingian letterforms from the early ninth century guided the round, calligraphic structure and wide shapes. My aim was to capture the essence of fantasy in a typeface, which resulted in a polished humanist serif that is closely related to hand drawn forms. The large x-height and low contrast help with legibility requirements making it a great choice for longer uses of text and flavourful user interfaces.

When combined with Avona as the display typeface, the two work together to visually create a world of magical fantasy while meeting the demands of good modern typography. Avona is currently available in beta on my website.

Avona Serif Features:
ā€¢ Good for UI and long text
ā€¢ 6 styles
ā€¢ Support for over 200 Latin-based languages
ā€¢ Rounded Diagonals Stylistic set
ā€¢ OpenType features: ligatures, old-style figures, tabular figures, fractions, case sensitive forms.
